> New Rail Line Moscow - Split

Latest Croatian Real Estate News

Croatia, has in the past few years, achieved considerable progress in tourism. The country has experienced a consistant increase in the number of tourists coming to Croatia for many years and even during the current financial crisis. The Croatian government has achieved this by increasing the quantity and quality of accommodation, services and activities for its guests, as well as connections to the country by introducing new flights and rail lines.

So it is encouraging to hear that Russian Railways are introducing a new rail line from Moscow to Split, starting in May 2012. This will enable Russian tourists easier access to Dalmatia and in conjuction with several other measures, the Croatian government is hoping it will draw more Russian tourists to the country. The train will ride go once a week from 17th June to 26th August. Although the trip will take three days, Russian tourists have expressed a lot of interest in the service.

This new line confirms the confidence of the Russian Railway's in the increased interest of Russian tourists for taking their vacations in Croatia. Croatia is clearly becoming more popular with the Russian market and is considered to be a top destination by many Russian tourists. The Croatian government has added further incentive by cancelling the requirement of Russian, Ukraine and Kazakhstan tourists to obtain visas to enter Croatia for the holiday period between 1st April to 31st October 2012.

As the interest from Russian travellers increases, so does their appetite for buying real estate in Croatia. Until now Russian's have been largely focused on the Motenegran coast but more recently have started buying property in Croatia. Russian property buyers have up until now be largely focused on well positioned houses or land close to or next to the sea. As Croatia becomes more accessible to the Russian market we expect to see an increasing number of russian investors to buy real estate in Croatia.
