> Croatian Parliamentary Elections 2011

Croatian people have great expectations from the new Government when it comes to economic stabilization, bringing living standards to the European level – this would at the same time mean a complete stabilization of the Croatian real estate market which will become more open towards foreign investors – which in turn will stimulate local developers, so the property sellers will only have a high quality offer of real estate in Croatia.

The winner of 2011 Parliamentary elections and the new Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic with his Social Democrat Party in coalition with a few others (80 seats in Parliament) is going by this 'stabilization policy'. In the election campaign he said: 'The worst politics is the politics that feeds and manipulates fears', meaning that no society can be successful while there is manipulation with people's fears and prejudice; and he added that his intentions are not fairy tale promises, just the opposite, he said: 'People need to know the truth even though it is often unpleasant and painful'.

Election programme of SDP says: 'We want a safe Croatia, solidarity and prosperity. This is the country where we can fulfil all our working and creative abilities and look with confidence at our future of continuous economic growth, solidarity and justice in the sphere of work, entrepreneurial incentives and ownership responsibility, schooling and educational opportunities, achieving housing security for families and individuals, health protection as the state's concern, careless childhood and dignified old age, society caring for the weak and unprotected, regard for others as the wealth of the society – that is SDP's programme for modern Croatia. The rule of law, European standards and improvement of the quality of life for all Croatian citizens. The task of democratic government is to help, support and protect its citizens in realization of these goals'.
