Croatia will close two more chapters in its EU accession negotiations on Monday 21st December. The decision was approved by EU countries on Thursday 17th and announced at an accession conference in Brussels. Croatian national television has reported that, after closing the two chapters, Croatia will have closed more than half of all negotiation chapters. Croatia has opened 28 chapters and closed 17.
The EU Committee of Permanent Representatives (Coreper) has given a green light to the closure of chapters on the Right of Establishment and Freedom to Provide Services and on Social, Police and Employment. It is expected finish its EU accession negotiations in the first six months of 2010
